There are some people and companies that want you to make decisions that positively affects their bottom line without offering you much in return.  How is it that smart people support the idea they must succumb to constant upgrades and releases that have no real benefit to themselves or their company?

This whole idea is based on one thing - fear.  If you can be convinced there is no alternative then you will easily become one of the unknowing blinded customers.  If a company could "train" you to use their products (through "helpful" wizards) which offer many actual useful tools, and at the same time prevent you from accessing similar tools that do very similar tasks, then you have been "trained."

There are alternatives to many business software needs, and you don't have to fear them.   The open source Linux based community provides applications and operating systems to meet the business needs of corporations,  academic and governmental organizations around the world.
